2007 was an interesting year for Beyond Cyberdrome. Convoy, the 2007 Eastercon,
was cancelled about five months before the con. An emergency replacement Eastercon called Contemplation was hurriedly arranged, but it was in a smaller hotel than usual and there wasn't a spare room we could use for the SCRAP workshop. Our original theme of BC: 2007 (shaken, not stirred) went out of the window. This may help to explain things a bit better. To cut a long story short, we were unable to put on an alternative that involved real robots, so we decided instead to organise a robot-themed comedy panel game called I'm Sorry I Haven't A Robot or The Beyond Cyberdrome Intermission Games that ripped off paid homage to several popular Radio 4 programmes. It was all very last minute (even more so than usual) but thanks to a lot of hard work by everyone involved it came together on the night.
Here is the Call for Participants we put out before the con, and this is the poster we asked people to decorate for us at the con and put up all over the hotel. Unfortunately I didn't keep any of the decorated ones.
In a Beyond Cyberdrome first, I filmed the whole event and put it online afterwards. Here is the video.
Here is the Magnotron Crescent map referred to in the game.
